C&S Week 2 Card 10 - Sending You Bunches Of Love

I've been a little behind in my assignments for class. Day 6 was about using simple embellishment or customizing your embellishments to minimize the bulkiness. Day 7 was about creating plain white cards with a focal image.

In view of the deadline towards the Valentine's Day Card Drive, I decided to focus on the 'Love' theme and did a card based on what I learnt from Day 7.

Stamped and colored with Copics. I'm still learning how to color with Copics especially on the blending part. Added glossy accents to the hearts and Diamond Stickles to just the center heart and added a couple more layers of glossy accent for more dimension.

Supplies Used:
Paper - PTI Stamper's Select White, Smokey Shadow
Inks - Momento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black

Stamps - MFT Flopsey Bunches Of Love
Others - MFT Open Scallops Doily Duo Die, Diamond Stickles, 1/16" Pop Dos, 1/8" Pop Dots, Glossy Accents, Copics

Paper - PTI Soft Stone, Autumn Rose, Smokey Shadow
Inks - Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress Ink Victorian Velvet

Card 39 - Love Is All You need

I bought a few Hero Arts 2012 stamps at my local Archivers when they had their launch but didn't have the chance to ink them up.

Here is a card using the new Zig Zag background stamp. This was one stamp set that I HAD to have when I saw during the preview blog hop. This card was made with the Card Drive in mind.

I inked the background stamp with JBS Chicken Feed, Chewing Gum, Speckled Egg and Lavender Sachet. Die-cut a flower and added White Liquid Pearls to the center as I want to avoid using buttons, brads and crystals or gems. The sentiment is clear embossed and adhered with pop dots. Also added random dots with liquid pearls to substitute the use of gems or crystals.

The inside sentiment looks faint here but it's ok in person. Nevertheless I'll be looking for another pink shade. This is a still a little pale for my liking.

Supplies Used:
Paper - PTI Stamper's Select White
Inks - JBS Chicken Feed, Chewing Gum, Speckled Egg, Lavender Sachet, Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink

Stamps - Hero Arts Zig Zag Background, Unity Hearty Barley
Others - MFT Perennial Flower Die, Ranger Liquid Pearls White, 1/16" Pop Dots, WRMK 1/2" Corner Chomper

Card 36 - Warm Winter Wishes

When I saw this stamp during MFT's December Release, I thought this stamp was so fitting for a friend of mine. She loves hot chocolate and each time we went out, she'll have a cup or she'll order one. So I thought it would make a lovely Christmas card for her.

Tried my hands at Copic coloring again. I paper pieced the mug and added white enamel for the marshmellows. I added Diamond Stickles to the snowflakes to give it some glitter and top the snowflakes with a gem brad and some pearls.

Card 35 - Merry Christmas (MFTWSC50)

This is my first try participating in this week's MFT sketch challenge.

I don't have a lot of their stuffs yet but will be collecting slowly but surely. Made do with the stuffs I had on hand to create this Christmas card.

The doily die I bought had not arrived yet so I cut this doily using my Silhouette. The girl's dress was paper pieced and so was the trimming on the dress. Glossy accents was added to the holly berries and hair clip.

Die cut the sentiment frame and holly for the inside of the card. Added red gems for the berries.

Paper - PTI Vintage Cream, Spring Moss, Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist
Pattern Paper - 12 Days of Christmas by My Mind's Eye
Inks - Distress Ink Antique Linen, Archival Jet Black
Stamps - MFT Holly Girl (PI)

Card 34 - I Love Dancing Through Life With You

This is my first MFT stamps haul. This stamp set and skyline border die caught my eye as they were doing their November release. My anniversary was coming up in December and I thought the sentiments were so fitting I just had to get it. Of coz this image is just so romantic as well although my hubby and I do not know any of such dances :P

I've also got a penchant for sentiments and I do find myself buying a stamp set just because of the sentiments. Ha...

In view that I was going to use the skyline border, I wanted to create a night scene with stars and thought to use white embossing and dig in my distress inks. I meant to wipe off some parts of the background stamp before I actually stamp on it but confident me was multi-tasking between card making and tv watching that I forgot about that and only remembered when I was almost done with my distress inking. Anyhow I figured that this card is gonna be for my husband who won't have the eye for such detail, I left it as that.

I'm also officially on Copics. I've heard and tried a little bit of Copics a year ago but held off buying them as I thought I could do away with it. However, the coloring with Copics is just so vibrant and fun that I finally succumbed. This is officially my first Copics coloring image using the markers I have on hand. I also want to take this opportunity to say that I really appreciate all the techniques and tips on using Copics that I've found online. There are so many crafters who are sharing information willingly and freely. I'm truly appreciative. Kudos to them!

Wanted to paper piece the tuxedo and the dress but couldn't figure out how to do it well that I decided to just color with my copics. Added rock candy stickles to the dress to give it some glittery effect.

I did this sentiment using selective stamping with the stamps from the set. Wanted to do more on the inside but I'm also someone who has a ton of things to write so I decided to leave it plain for my own message.

I also decided to enter this for the Young Crafters Unite Challenge #4. It's been a while since I participated in their challenges. I had used a couple of dies here.
