Card 21 - Have A Merry Christmas

After seeing so many inspirations on Christmas cards, I was definitely inspired to do some myself. Got myself a few Lawn Fawn stamps when 2Peas was having 25% sale on stamps.

Just love working with Lawn Fawn stamps. They are so fun to use and mix around. I will be entering this card to the Lawnscaping Challenge #19: Layers & Dimensions. It will be my first time joining the challenge and since I have more Lawn Fawn stamps on hand now, I should be able to participate more often.

I colored all the images using my Faber-Castell Aquarelles. The sentiment 'card' was inspired by a "To Santa" stamp in the set. I drew my own card on pattern paper to size and stamp the sentiment with versamark and heat embossed.

The mantel is layered on 1/16" foam adhesives and the tree is layered on 1/16" & 1/8" foam adhesives. I also added glossy accents to all the lights bulbs for added interest.

Card 20 - Be Happy

I started out doing a card using emboss resist technique but I ended up not liking the results so I threw that away. Saw this stamp set which I had but not used and decided to do just a simple 1 layer card and some coloring...

I did a matching envelope and will be entering this card for the Young Crafters Unite Challenge #2.

SCC Week 2 Card 2 - Happy Birthday To You

I definitely had a better time doing my card today. The only headache I had was choosing pattern papers to use. I try as much as possible to avoid using pattern papers as I just can't seem to know how to select them. Well I could have given those pattern papers too much of a thought but well I guess I'm still learning.

I actually broke out of my comfort zone today and used 2 pattern papers. I still don't have any ribbons so had to make do with what I had on hand for embellishments.

Card Set-up:
1) Stamp floral image 3 times and leaf image twice on white card stock. Colored them with aquarelles and cut them out for layering
2) Trim pattern papers, sponged edges with wild honey and adhered to card base
3) Trim a 1/2" strip of Terra-cotta tile card stock and adhere to card front
4) Stamp sentiment
5) Layered flower with pop dots, adhere leaves and flower to card front
6) Round right corners with corner chomper and sponged edges of card with wild honey and added 3 pearls as a finishing touch

Supplies Used:
Paper - PTI Orange Sunrise, Terra-Cotta Tile
Pattern Papers - Jubilee by The Girls' Paperie, Lime Twist by My Mind's Eye
Inks - Distress Ink Wild Honey, Archival Jet Black, Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps - Hero Arts Layered Flowers, Stampendous Birthday Assortment (Sentiment)
Others - Faber-Castell Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils, Pop Dots, WRMK Corner Chomper, Hero Arts Pearls

Summer Card Camp 2011 Week 1 + PTI MIM Polaroid 2-Step Masking Challenge

Today is the start of the Summer Card Camp 2011 which I signed up for. It's being hosted by 2 very talented and sweet ladies Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire. I've actively checked out their blogs which are full of tutorials on card making and techniques. And as a newbie in paper crafting, I figure out I'll definitely be learning even more on this camp.

This is the SCC color challenge of week 1.

I don't wanna reveal how long I spent doing the card but it was pretty long. Besides figuring out on how I want to take on the color challenge, I also wanted to try participating in PTI's Make It Monday - Polaroid 2-Step Masking Challenge. Talk about being overly ambitious :P I'm also still slowly increasing my stamp and ink collection so had to make do with whatever I had.

Anyway here is my card for both of the challenges.

I did the polaroid masking and masked the center. Sponged the edges of the white card (3x4inch) with tumbled glass. Then I masked the edges and stamped in my Daffodil image twice. Colored in with color pencils as I don't have copics. I then cut out one of the daffodil and popped it up with foam adhesive. I sponged the edges of the card with spun sugar and adhered it to a lavender cardstock (3.75x4.5inch).  Sponged the edges again with spun sugar, added white twine and adhered to card base.

The sentiment was stamped, cut out, edges sponged with spun sugar and popped on foam adhesives.

Supplies Used:
Papers - PTI Stamper's Select White, Raspberry Fizz, Bazzil Lavender
Inks - Distress Ink Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass, Versafine Onyx Black, Archival Jet Black
Stamps - Wplus9 A Special Lady, LF Bannerific, PTI Beautiful Blessings
Others - Foam Adhesives, AC White Twine, Faber-Castell Art Grip Aquarelle
