PTI MIM #68 - Take Time To Remember

This week's PTI's MIM #68 is on pocket cards.

I wanted to do a card for Father's Day using this technique. I do not own any masculine stamp sets so I decided to choose something pretty neutral. Not sure if the card turned out on the girly side. I chose Lemon Tart as my base as yellow is my dad's favorite color.

Here is my take:

I used Copic marker to add a little shading to the leaves. Turned out I had a super juicy marker and couldn't really get the shading done perfectly.

I also stamped BB: Postmarks over the entire pocket using Soft Stone ink. Did faux stitching since I can't sew and added Silver Liquid Pearls to the dots for subtle accents.
For my insert, I framed the sides using Life stamp set and added sentiment from Harvest Berries since I didn't have any Father's Day or Father related sentiments in my collection. Added Soft Stone ribbon as a final touch.

P.S I really love the Soft Stone ink. It gives such a subtle effect.

Supplies Used:
Papers - PTI Lemon Tart, Soft Stone
Inks - PTI Soft Stone, Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, JBS Brown Sugar
Stamps - PTI Lovely Leaves, BB Postmarks, Life, Harvest Berries
Others - Ranger Liquid Pearls Silver, WRMK 1/4" Corner Chomper, Zig Pen Brown, Copics

PTI MIM #60 - Beyond The Clouds

Today's PTI Make It Monday #60 is on Generational Stamping. I have tried this technique before but not using an array of colors.

The technique is really fun with beautiful effects and depending on the colors used, you can get even 3 - 4 generational stamping out of 1 inked stamp.

Here is my take:
I started this card with noone specifically to give to but as I was creating, I got to know that one of my mum's friend's daughter is facing some health issues. The family has been a great support to my family especially my mum during difficult times and it's sad to know that life isn't going too well for them at present.

There are so many meaningful sentiments from PTI. I was also contemplating to use a couple of sentiments from Beautiful Blessings but decided to go with this. The card was also embossed with canvas impression plate.  I'm so loving the subtle texture it gives especially on 1-layered cards.

Supplies Used:
Papers - PTI Rustic Cream
Inks - PTI Pure Poppy, Melon Sorbet, Autumn Rose, Orange Zest, Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, JBS Brown Sugar, Ranger Distress Inks Antique Linen, Vintage Photo
Stamps - PTI Beautiful Butterflies, Movers & Shakers Sentiments, Framed Out #1, Homemade Hodgepodge
Others - PTI Canvas IP, AC Twine White, Hero Arts Mixed Accents

Card 33 - God Is Our Refuge

It is with a heavy heart that I did this card. My aunt went for a body check and the doctors found a lump in one of her breasts. They have scheduled her for a biopsy to determine if the lump is malignant or  benign. Whatever the results are, I don't think that as good news.

This card was done with my aunt in mind and the technique used was from PTI Make It Monday #42: Layered Background with Sentiment Stamps by Betsy Veldman.

My aunt loves children but sadly, she has none of her own. As such, my younger sisters and brother regard her as their Godmother. As for me, I have lots of memories of things that I did with my aunt as I was growing up and I just wanna let my aunt know that she's not forgotten. Most importantly, I want to remind her that God will be her strength. It's just so easy to forget about God and continue having faith and hope in the midst of our pain and suffering. I hope that the card can be an encouragement and reminder.

Supplies Used:
Paper - PTI Rustic Cream, Smokey Shadow
Inks - Distress Ink Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, JBS Brown Sugar, Chicken Feed, Weather Vane
Stamps - PTI Peaceful Garden, Beautiful Blessings
Others - WRMK 3/8" Corner Chomper

Card 17 - Life Be Like A Wildflower

I did this card with 2 challenges in mind. I've not really participated in any challenges before so this can be considered my first. The first 'challenge' is from Papertrey Ink's Make-It-Monday #33: Frosted Images

I didn't have any PTI's inks, I made do with whatever I had on hand and needed a little extra work done. As my inks are mainly dye inks, they dry faster and are probably not as juicy as pigment inks or PTI's inks. I had to work directly from the white ink pad as an additional step. However, I enjoyed the process and getting my fingers inky.

I'm also participating in the Young Crafters Unite Challenge #2: Envelope To Match. I do decorate my envelopes when the occasion arises. Anyhow, I thought it will be fun to also try it out this challenge and get back on some crafting.
