Card 20 - Be Happy

I started out doing a card using emboss resist technique but I ended up not liking the results so I threw that away. Saw this stamp set which I had but not used and decided to do just a simple 1 layer card and some coloring...

I did a matching envelope and will be entering this card for the Young Crafters Unite Challenge #2.

Card 19 - Wishing You Happiness & Cheer

Well just so happened, I was at home this Sunday and decided to participate in my first Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge.

And here is my take on this challenge.

I chose to work with repetition on the colors and stripes with Papertrey Ink's perfect match cardstocks. Stamp sentiment from Christmas Lights and added Aqua Mist satin ribbon as a final touch.

Card 18 - Merry Christmas

I received my recent PTI purchase yesterday and thought to try out my new Holiday stamps. I did this card with the intention of participating in the ongoing Lawnscaping Challenge: "Getting Texty". After having done the card, I read the requirements of the challenge and using Lawn Fawn stamps are preferred, although not compulsory. Anyhow, I felt kinda bad to not use Lawn Fawn stamps for that challenge so I decided against submitting this card.

So happens, Simon Says Stamps has a challenge "Dies To Die For" going on and the card I've created fits. So I decided to participate in that.

I stamped the sentiment "holly jolly" in inks coordinating to Christmas that is green, red and gray (for silver). I actually got inspired by one of the pattern papers in Echo Park's 6x6 Dots & Stripes Christmas collection. The Merry Christmas circle was stamped in gray ink and clear embossed. Added silver gems to the center of the 3 stars bulbs. This gray stamp looked black after the clear embossing. Looks like it's time for me to get more ink pads...

Card 17 - Life Be Like A Wildflower

I did this card with 2 challenges in mind. I've not really participated in any challenges before so this can be considered my first. The first 'challenge' is from Papertrey Ink's Make-It-Monday #33: Frosted Images

I didn't have any PTI's inks, I made do with whatever I had on hand and needed a little extra work done. As my inks are mainly dye inks, they dry faster and are probably not as juicy as pigment inks or PTI's inks. I had to work directly from the white ink pad as an additional step. However, I enjoyed the process and getting my fingers inky.

I'm also participating in the Young Crafters Unite Challenge #2: Envelope To Match. I do decorate my envelopes when the occasion arises. Anyhow, I thought it will be fun to also try it out this challenge and get back on some crafting.

Card 16 - Happy Birthday

I did a card for my girlfriend's birthday. Felt weird to get my hands on crafting after more than a month's break.

I wanted to do something more cheery and fun as she was also sick and was not going to be out celebrating.

I accidentally deleted the other photos of this card without realizing that the angle of this photo made the presents look a little lopsided and unbalanced.

Happy that I'm finally able to get using my cuttlebug folder and stamp sets that I had with me for a while. I added glossy accent to the balloons as a finishing touch.
